Awesome country music players

When it comes to country music, people seem to only go in two opposite directions – they either absolutely love it or hate it with all their guts. And, even though tastes might not change overnight, the country music genre seems to have undergone some serious adjustments in the past decade or so.

Let’s face it – when you think about country music you mainly have a strong image of a middle-aged musician with a harmonica or a mandolin blabbing about cowboys, girls, and the good life in the countryside. However, nowadays the country music seems to also be inspired by folk, rock or pop genres, as more and more musicians are seeking new ways to reach the younger public.

So, either you love it or hate it, there are some country music players that might be worthy of your attention.

Dolly Parton

Dolly is by far the most popular feminine voice of country music. She is also a very skilled actress and songwriter, known for writing most of her songs. Even after many years in the spotlight, Dolly Parton still manages to sway the audience with her contagious smile and breathtaking beauty.

Dolly’s most famous song remains “Jolene”, which she has interpreted for many years and that has been covered hundreds of times by other important musicians and bands. However, perhaps the most touching tribute remains the one of Dolly’s goddaughter, the famous singer, and actress Miley Cyrus. Their duet on the song “Jolene” is definitely worthy of your time.

Blake Shelton

As I previously mentioned, the country music stage has seen a resurrection in the past few years, mainly because of a new wave of talented singers who tried their luck with the genre. One of them is Blake Shelton, a singer, songwriter, and music star who’s extremely easy on the eye.

Born in 1976 in Oklahoma, Blake was married two times before meeting his current wife, famous singer Gwen Stefani. The couple has worked together on many seasons of America’s most famous TV music show, “The Voice”.

Ever since his debut in 2001, Shelton has released 11 music albums and has gained millions of fans worldwide.

Taylor Swift

Swift is definitely the leader of the new country music generation and arguably one of the most talented singers and songwriters in the world right now. At just 28 years of age, Taylor Swift already has an impressive career and has gained numerous trophies.

She is a true inspiration for new musicians and remains tied to her country roots even though she transitioned to pop music a few years ago. The singer released six music albums, with her latest called “Reputation” in 2017. She is also known for her electric live performances and her tumultuous personal life.

My favorite online radio stations

Everyone said that radio was dying. But as a matter of fact, in recent years, it has flourished, against all odds. Granted, traditional radio devices are not as popular as they once were, but instead, stations moved online, where everyone can access them.

Now you can find thousands of radio stations from all over the world, and it can be hard to discover a quality one that plays popular music. That’s why I’ve decided to create this article, so I could bring some clarity into this haze of options and spread the word about some of my favorite stations.

I will try to keep things as diverse as possible because it’s nice to have some variety when it comes to music. The Top 100 type of radio can get bored pretty quickly, so in case you need a back-up, I have you covered. Just bookmark this article so you can access it whenever you need some inspiration.

The first radio station I want you to enjoy is Pitchfork Radio. If you want an alternative to streaming services, this is it. It plays hundreds of independent artists so you can always discover new styles and fresh tunes. If you know the online magazine with the same name, then you know what to expect. It also has many excellent shows on topics such as music, politics, and current events.

Another cool and young vibed stop is Soma FM. It is based in a warehouse in San Francisco, and it has somewhat of a different concept. Soma FM is funded by its listeners, meaning there are no ads. Additionally, it has varied programs, covering every style and taste from folk to experimental music. I really enjoy the fact that there are no annoying ads for things I don’t care about – something that is quite hard to find nowadays.

Next in line is KEXP. The station was born in Seattle, and it took over the Internet and become one of the most significant voices in the grunge music scene. The station usually plays alt-rock and indie music, and it has allowed me to get a taste of the coolest bands throughout the ages, not just from our modern times.

And the last station I want to introduce you to is Kiss FM. It’s a bit of a predictable one, but the truth is, when I need some ambient music, Kiss is my go-to. It’s fantastic if you want to stay up to date with the latest releases from famous artists such as Katy Perry, Rihanna, and many others.

I listen to it whenever I have to clean and when I want to fool around in my home, dancing like a dork, with a glass of red wine in my hand and a deodorant that acts as a microphone, in the other.
